2011 Tempranillo
Tasting Notes: The deep color and rich extraction of Tempranillo character showcase the winemaker’s style and expression of this delicious Rogue Valley fruit. This wine is medium bodied with a silky ripe blackberry note in the middle with a hint of licorice. Sturdy tannins with a dried currant and pipe tobacco on the finish. Smooth and rich with a bit of rustic charm.
Food Pairings: Pair with grilled or braised rich meats or creamy pasta sauces and dishes. Gamier meats such as lamb or duck would do well with the bright cherry notes. Wine Club pairing is a chicken mushroom bruschetta.
Tasting notes
The nose on this vintage is all roasted coffee and whiffs of cinnamon and vanilla. Being a classic Tempranillo, the aged leather and smooth pipe tobacco rounded with the warm vanilla on the mid-palate. The finish is dramatic with a bit of burnt roasted coffee rapidly dissipating into a smooth long finish.
