2011 Merlot
Tasting Notes: The deep color and rich extraction of Merlot character showcase the winemaker’s style and expression of this delicious Rogue Valley fruit. This vintage is rich and luscious on the nose with buttery caramel with a twist of white pepper. This wine is light-bodied but brings a cherry pipe tobacco and tart bright red cherry to the mid-palate finishing with a lingering dark, ripe cherry on the finish. Smooth and rich with a bit of rustic charm.
Food Pairings: Pair with grilled or braised rich meats or creamy pasta sauces and dishes. Gamier meats such as lamb or duck would do well with the bright cherry notes. Wine Club pairing is a chicken mushroom bruschetta.
