Tasting Notes:  Known for its deep color and richness of flavors we find these characters are displayed in the 2013 vintage.  Deep black cherry color with a fruity and violet floral nose give pleasure from the start.  The palate fills with violet, pink grapefruit and a dusty peppercorn introduction. The mid to back palate delivers a dark cacao and dried blackberry note on the finish. 

Food Pairings:   Pair with roast duck or lamb dishes or spicy pork.  The complexity allows it to showcase gamier or highly flavored meats, the earthiness would pair well with rich and buttery cheddars or creamy mushroom based sauces.
